True discipleship is hard. It’s not complicated, but the time, investment, commitment, and accountability required is not a call for the weak. It’s also not exclusively a call for the theologian. Disciple-making is the call of every believer. It was Jesus Christ’s last earthly instruction. “You will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8) was a declaration-confirmation of the call to make disciples (The Great Commission — Matthew 28). The disciples took that very seriously. And so do we. Jesus is our everything.
When we capture that reality and the Holy Spirit anoints the message of hope, we plant seeds in others that promise to spring up in a powerful life-giving display of God’s glory. THAT is our purpose and therefore, our mission: MAKE DISCIPLES. But it doesn't stop there. We don't simply make disciples. We make disciple makers.
