Church!
Our scripture this past Sunday was so powerful. Galatians 4:1–7 reminds us of something easy to forget in the middle of real-time everyday life: We are no longer slaves. We are sons and daughters.
There was a time when we lived like heirs who didn’t know who we were. We carried burdens we were never meant to carry, trying to earn what had already been promised. But in the fullness of time, God stepped in. He didn’t double down on the laws meant for us. He sent His Son to fulfill them. All of them. And through Him, everything changed. So you don’t have to wait any longer to become family and receive the inheritance. You already are family.
That means your identity isn’t fragile, based on your performance this week, or determined by your past failures or how strong your faith feels today. It’s rooted in adoption. As a child of God you are chosen, brought into the house, and given His Spirit as a seal. You’re not a visitor. You’re a resident. The cry of “Abba, Father” is a signal to all creation that you belong. So when life feels uncertain, remember what is certain.
You are seen.
You are known.
You are wanted.
You are included in the inheritance.
We don’t have to struggle, trying to move toward God. We live in the reality that He has already brought us near.
Walk in that freedom. Pray from that closeness. Rest in that truth.
More to come from Galatians 4 this Sunday!
