Intentionality.
From a Christian perspective, intentionality is about living, choosing, and acting with purpose that aligns with God’s will, rather than drifting through life by habit, impulse, or self-centered goals. It means choosing, again and again, to align our hearts, actions, and direction with God’s purpose—through love, obedience, and reliance on grace.
A Christian life is not passive. Following Christ requires deliberate commitment because Jesus calls people to follow Him, not merely admire Him (Luke 9:23). So, spiritual growth requires intentional practices (prayer, Scripture, fasting, service). Discipleship is a daily, conscious choice.
Join us on this intentional journey for the month of January - we will post devotionals every day in January to go and grow in the same direction. We believe this will grip us and compel us to seek and live for Him every day that follows.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
Ever heard the saying Where your treasure is, there your heart is? Well, it’s scripture, and it comes from Matthew. I think about this often in my life in several ways.
Is my treasure in my work?
When I was younger, my whole identity was tied up in my career, and I gave more time and energy to my job than I did anything else. I think I am probably not the only one who struggled or is currently struggling with this.
Is my treasure in a person?
At some point, I transitioned from career-minded to just wanting to be like “who you know,” and my time and energy went to this person! This was very destructive in my life and almost cost me everything I had.
Is my treasure in myself?
While work and other people topped the list, I do believe we hear a lot of people say to invest in yourself! While I don’t disagree with this, I do believe there is a healthy limit!
Dear God, Reveal our hearts and motives. Purify us in why we do what we do, and this year, I pray that each of us find our treasure in you and in you alone. This year, may I lead someone else to believe in you – may that be my treasure I store up – the treasure in heaven of the people I have told about you.
Application:
This year set aside time to spend with God in prayer, and set aside time for people.

Scripture: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear is one of the most common human experiences. It finds us in uncertainty, in moments of insecurity, and tries to convince us that we are powerless. But Paul reminds Timothy—and us—that fear is not a gift from God. If fear doesn’t come from Him, then we don’t have to accept it as part of who we are. We are made to be something different.
Power
The Holy Spirit equips us with strength that is not our own. It’s the supernatural courage to do what God has called us to do. You carry God’s power, not just your own.
Love
God’s love for you is perfect, unwavering, and present in every situation. And His Spirit empowers you to love others boldly, even when fear would say differently.
A Sound Mind
Being anchored in truth rather than tossed around by anxious thoughts. God gives you a steady mind that can recognize fear for what it is: a liar. When your mind feels noisy or unsettled, God offers peace that settles you again.
Reflection
Where have you been letting fear speak louder than God?
What would it look like to step into His power, operate in His love, and trust Him for a sound mind?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for today. Fill me with Your power, surround me with Your love, and steady my mind with Your peace. Help me walk boldly in who You created me to be. Amen.

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9
In 2024, I had some bizarre blood pressure issues, but had some unusual symptoms. We spent 6 months or longer doing weird tests, trying to figure out the sudden cause. There were several trips to the ER for things such as my heart rate dropping to 35 beats per minute by just sitting. Jerad was calling me every 2 hours from work, checking on my BP. I remember a night I woke up with my heart beating so fast, I told Jerad I loved him and that he gave me a good life, but it's my time to go. Now, some may say I might be a bit of a dramatic hypochondriac...maybe I am. But the realness was there…I truly believed this was going to kill me, but we tried to stay focused on God and thankful.
Every night we prayed together, we came to God with one thing to be thankful for, because He asks us to be thankful when praying. I mean, this thing was taking over our lives, but we will find one thing, since He asks. We would thank Him for whatever it was for the night, and then pleaded with Him for answers. And it's not too much to ask for, is it? To be thankful during our distress. It helps to appreciate the one or two things that are good during this awful struggle, whatever that may look like for you. The day my blood pressure was normal, and the day my final heart palpitations finally settled to normal, you better bet your socks I was grateful and thankful- I honestly couldn't believe it! I had come out of that deep valley. He planted some seeds and had flowers in the end. In a weird way, I am glad for it. I was closer to HIM because of it, and it has made me appreciate this LIFE He can give or take away. I still thank God all the time for bringing me from that fearful time.
Heavenly Father, Thank you for the God that you are and the sacrifice that was made. Please guide each of us in the way you are wanting us to grow in you. Help us to be patient and gracious in what you are doing in our hearts, lives, and situations. Help us to remember that you are good and bless us, even in our darkest moments. Help us to remember to be thankful, even when we don't feel like it. Help us to feel you when we are in deep struggle and need you in ways no other human could possibly fulfill. In Jesus’ name I pray these things.

Israel sent out spies to the promised land; 10 men were sent out, but only 2 saw the potential to overcome the giants.
Are your giants greater? Are you a grasshopper? Or is your God greater?
Because 2 saw the promised land and the rest didn’t

-2 lived in the promised land and the rest didn’t
Where will you live? Wandering in negativity, wandering thinking you aren’t enough, or walking into purpose knowing who your God is?
I don’t think this story is in here to read about a group of people on a walk in the wilderness; I think this story is for us, for us to know we are all on a walk on a journey to discover our promised land with God. We all have a place we are going towards, we all have giants to overcome, we all have a perspective, either focused on the giants or focused on our God.
It is about our walk and how close we walk with God. Because the giants are real. They are not made up. They are big. They are in front of us. But once we conquer them WITH God, that is where we are in our promised land.
Prayer: God help us to focus on your might and power and your faithfulness, even when the giant is in front of us - remind us how much greater you are. Renew our mindsets this year. Thank you - you are greater.

Scripture: I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
A verse that has become one of, if not the, most known verses in the Bible due to athletes writing it on their eye black or in their instagram bios. But holy cow, is it not the most misquoted one as well. This verse is not a call to go and play a sport well because God is with you. Let's look at it more in context.
Philippians 4:10-12 “I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I am, to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.”
He’s saying, “I can walk through anything—highs or lows—because Jesus is the strength that sustains me.”This verse is less about power for success and more about strength for obedience. It’s about trusting God enough to do what He asks, even when it’s uncomfortable, stretching, or risky. So how does this actually apply to us? It means when God nudges your heart—to pray for a server at a restaurant, to give generously to someone in need, to walk up for prayer on a Sunday because you know you can’t carry something alone—you step into it boldly. Why? Because the God who strengthened Paul in a prison cell is the same God who strengthens you in your everyday life. Jesus never promised ease, but He promised strength. He never promised comfort, but He promised His presence. And when you’re following His will, He will not fail you.
So today, instead of treating this verse like a motivational slogan, receive it as an invitation to courageous obedience.

[On the day I called, you answered me; And you made me bold and confident with (renewed) strength in my life.] Amplified Version
One day, I remember exactly where I was crying out to God about a very specific, urgent, and dear matter. I told God, the pastor wants me to help lead in prayer, and my own prayers aren’t even being answered.
The moment the words left my mouth to God, my phone rang. On the other end of the phone was the exact person and circumstance I was referring to my prayers not being answered. I don’t remember any of the conversation. I only knew God heard. He heard my cry and in that moment, He gave me a new amount of strength.
God was telling me He had me, to keep going, keep praying, keep believing because He was listening.
Because here is the deal - I am nothing. My prayers aren’t magical - it is only Christ within me. And this walk, this day, even this hour is not about me getting what I want - it’s about me growing closer to God. Me learning to hear Him. Me trusting Him. Me confiding in Him. Me being honest with Him.
Prayer:
God, I need you for wisdom in so many areas of my life. In work, in my family, as a parent, I need wisdom on how to treat and deal with people, daily. I need you by my side everyday, always. Thank you that I know even when I can’t see an answer that you hear my cries. Thank you for your strength when mine fails.

Scripture: He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. (Ephesians 1:5)
God didn't just choose us to forgive us, but to be adopted into his family. Through Christ, we are given a new identity, not orphans, but loved sons and daughters. Adoption is always intentional. God pursues us, chooses us, and welcomes us as HIS own.
Application:
We should mirror God’s heart. This means loving intentionally, seeing the unseen, and living out our own identity as sons and daughters.
Prayer:
Father God, Thank you for choosing us and making us your children. Teach us to live in our new identity as your children. May our lives point others to the family found in yours. Amen

“And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them,“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” Mark 8:34–36
In one sentence, Jesus reframes what true success is: you can gain everything the world offers and still lose what matters most.
We spend so much energy trying to hold life together—securing comfort, protecting our image, chasing approval, building a future.
But Jesus says the real danger isn’t losing those things… it’s losing our soul in the process.Denying yourself isn’t about punishment—it’s about letting go of the illusion that you can be your own savior. Taking up your cross isn’t about suffering for no reason—it’s about surrendering the parts of your life that keep you from fully following Jesus. We chase gain, but often the gains we chase don’t last.
Jesus invites us to pursue gain that is eternal.
The world says, “Get more.” | Jesus says, “Give Me your life, and I’ll give you real life.”
The world says, “Protect your image.” | Jesus says, “Follow Me even when it costs you something.”
The world says, “Do whatever benefits you.” | Jesus says, “What good is benefit if it costs your soul?”
Jesus isn’t saying this to take life from us. He’s saying it because He wants to give us the only life that truly satisfies.
Prayer:
“Lord, help me gain where it matters. Show me what I’ve been holding onto that keeps me from following You fully. Reveal any place where I’ve been chasing the world instead of You. Teach me to deny myself, take up my cross, and follow You with courage. Guard my soul, and help my life reflect what truly lasts. Amen.”

Scripture: “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” Ephesians 5:25 (ESV)
This verse reminds me that being a good husband and father isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about showing up faithfully. I’m challenged by the fact that Christ’s love was active and sacrificial, not passive or convenient. There are days when it’s easier to be distracted, tired, or focused on my own priorities, but this verse calls me to something higher. Loving like Christ means choosing my family even when it costs me time, comfort, or pride.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me sacrificially. Help me love my wife and children with patience, humility, and consistency. When I fall short, remind me to depend on Your grace and lead my family by example. Amen.
Today, choose one intentional act of love for your family. Put your phone down, give your full attention, serve without being asked, or speak encouragement instead of correction. Small, faithful choices are how Christlike love is lived out at home.

Scripture: "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth". Psalm 145:18
This verse holds a gentle promise. It reminds us that God’s nearness is not something we have to earn, but something we become aware of. The psalmist does not say God might come near to us or that God waits for us to be perfect. He says God is near—right now—right here. If we feel distant, it is usually because we are distracted, afraid, or rushing through life, not because God is far away.
But the verse also adds something important: “to all who call on him in truth.”
Truth is not about perfection or what we justify as right or wrong. It is honesty. It is the kind of prayer that stops pretending. Prayer that admits, “Lord, I’m tired,” or “I’m confused or angry,” or “I need you more than I want to admit.”
God draws close to that kind of voice—not because He needs the information, but because honesty opens the door of our hearts for Him to enter. When we call on God sincerely, we discover that He is already closer than our breath. His nearness becomes felt, not just believed.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for always being near. Help me call on You in truth—without fear, without pretending, without holding anything back. Let Your nearness quiet my worries and strengthen my heart. Allow me to feel your presence. Amen.

God uses our struggles in a way to develop and fine-tune our relationship with Him. Our struggles can weed out the weak and strong parts of our faith. We can not give up; we must preserve.
We must continue to trust and obey God’s commands even when it is hard. Let the Holy Spirit provide power to abide under pressure. Trials will give opportunities for growth, producing perseverance - Leading to spiritual maturity. It’s not just enduring, it’s thriving through God’s power to fulfill promises.
Prayer:
Lord, grant me the strength to persevere through this difficult season, remind me you are my refuge and strength. Pour your love through the Holy Spirit into my heart, giving me wisdom to trust you fully and lean not on my own understanding.

I have found the bible has a lot to say about our words, starting in creation in Genesis at the very beginning of the bible. At creation, the spirit was present, along with God the Father and His word. John 1:14 “God made all things by His words and God created man in His image” (Genesis 1:27) and “if we are created in His image then our words too can create and are powerful”.
“Let the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.” Psalms 19:14

Scripture: “So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.” Hebrews 4:9–10
Ironically, godly rest is hard work. I know to rest. I just choose most often not to. Rest isn't simply a day of the week, a vacation, or a break from busyness. Sabbath-rest goes deeper than our bodies. It reaches the soul. It is spiritual rest, rest of the soul, rest from striving to earn God’s approval. It points to a life of trust in God, not anxiety, fear, or constant self-effort. Because the rest we seek has already been secured. It means the work is finished. It means we stop striving for identity. It means living IN grace, not FOR approval.
This doesn’t mean we stop doing good or stop being responsible. It means we stop trying to earn righteousness by effort, prove our worth through performance, or…wait for it…save ourselves.
Just as God rested after creation—not because He was tired, but because His work was complete—believers rest because God’s saving work is complete.
Thank the Father for finishing the work in us that we never can. Enter His rest — from His strength instead of your own striving. Lay down your hurried heart today, and receive the Sabbath-rest He provides.

Scripture: “May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
It has been said, “When you learn to recognize God’s signature, you see His handwriting everywhere!” That is how I feel about God’s love for me! I see it manifested in every area of my life!
From the moment I am aware of my first breath in the morning, God’s provision, unexpected blessings of grace and mercy throughout the day, until the close of the day with His magnificent sunsets, I continue to fall more in love with God and His son, Jesus! Realizing how much I am loved, I now want to share this goodness and good news with others: endeavoring to do everything I know that pleases His heart. Perfectly? No; but with intentional purpose!
I believe my obedience to the Holy Spirit’s calling on my heart is the way I express my love back to my Heavenly Father. As the eyes of my heart remain open to see and receive God’s blessings, as well as intentionally looking for ways to be His blessing, I believe the Holy Spirit uses my gifts and abilities to fulfill God’s plan and purpose for my daily life. It is a beautiful life of relationship, unconditional love, and salvation that is mercifully available for everyone.
Heavenly Father,
May those You send across my path today, not only feel seen, but also, Your presence, peace, and unconditional love through my “yes” to Your Holy Spirit’s gentle calling on my heart.
All for Your honor and glory, through Christ Jesus, amen.

Scripture: “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. [21] Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” John 14:20-21 NIV
As Christ is preparing his followers for the coming of the Holy Spirit by his resurrection. He chooses this moment when, in spite of the path before Him, to speak of deep intimacy and hope. We can only imagine the pressures of His mortality coming to pass.. yet He pleads with us to know, there is a purpose, a joy, and His message.. to “abide” in Him as He abides in the Father…we are told that Christ abides in us, but it is clear that He also reassures us that He takes the place of the shelter and the provision. He says.. “I abide in the Father and You “abide in me”…and I abide in you!”
Prayer:
Help us, Holy Spirit, to learn to trust in abiding in you, and to recognize you for abiding in us! If you had only died to take our place, and not given us your Spirit to abide in us, that would have been enough!

Scripture: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8
In my early 50’s, I had the privilege of attending a three-day spiritual retreat. I was assigned a roommate I had never met. Getting acquainted, she shared her story of being a promiscuous young woman, but then marrying a wonderful, Christian man. She could never feel worthy of his love! After several years of marriage, her husband, in desperation, asked, “WHAT MORE DO I HAVE TO DO FOR YOU TO MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU?” In that very moment, it was as if God spoke those words directly to my heart! I had grown up in church! I’d always known God gave His one and only son for our sins and our salvation, so we could be with Him for all eternity. I had even made the good confession of faith and been baptized at the tender age of 9! But, as I thought I had to be “perfect” to be loved, I could never feel worthy of God’s love or His salvation! I had no understanding of Grace!
Desiring to have a personal relationship with Jesus, spending time in God’s word and reading a daily devotional, “Jesus Calling”, surrounding myself with Christian friends and mentors, I began to see myself through the truth of God’s eyes: His grace and mercy. Through the blood of Jesus, God sees me, not only worthy, but perfect. This fact is not because of anything I have done, except to say “yes” to Jesus and accept His gift of unconditional love and salvation. As His love fills my heart, it naturally overflows (even seeps out the broken pieces of my heart), and I realize every blessing (good and perfect gift), no matter who it is through, is a manifestation of God’s love for me. As I began to understand, receive, and be filled with God’s unconditional love, through my God given gifts and abilities, for His plan and purpose, the Holy Spirit began to use my “yes” in ways that continue to give my heart overwhelming joy!!
Heavenly Father,
Help me never to take your gifts of grace, mercy, unconditional love, and salvation for granted. Please strengthen Your Holy Spirit in me, that the eyes of my heart may be aware of those You want to bless through the gifts You have blessed me! All for Your honor and glory,

Scripture: “Behold, all souls are mine…” Ezekiel 18:4
We live in a world that constantly tells us to take ownership—of our work, our identity, our future, even our families. But God interrupts that thinking with a simple, stunning declaration: “All souls are mine.”
This reminds us of our dignity, our accountability, and our stewardship.
Ashley and I, as relatively new parents, read this verse through tears, especially raising children in a complex and broken world (system). But knowing they were God’s before they were ever placed in our hands is a holy responsibility...and a relief. We know both all too well.
On the other side of that reality is the letting go. Letting go in a godly way leads us to release without resentment, surrender without passivity, and trust without denial. It’s choosing to stop forcing outcomes and believing that God’s wisdom exceeds our own. You do what is yours to do (possible: act with integrity, love, responsibility) and release what isn’t (impossible: other people’s choices, timing, results).
No human being is self-made or independent of God. Our existence, breath, and purpose come from Him. Belonging to God means that OUR lives (not just the ones we steward) have meaning and direction, our choices matter, we are not trapped by our past or family history, and that we are invited into a relationship of obedience and trust.
Ask the Father to lift the weight of ownership of anything (including children) from your shoulders. Walk in the dignity of being HIS yourself. And steward all things with faith, hope, and trust in God's care.

Scripture: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV
You are not your own. You were bought with a price, the very highest price, so that you might walk in freedom and light. What a gift! Let your heart be filled with gratitude and praise for what God has done in your life. In return, choose to honor Him fully with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.
Application:
Today, let your obedience be costly. Do whatever it is that God asks you to do. Give up whatever it is that God asks you to give up.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for sending your Son to pay the debt I owed. The debt I could never pay. Help me to remember what my freedom cost and to walk daily in that freedom. Grant me a heart that wants to be obedient- no matter the cost. I love you! In Jesus’ name. Amen

Scripture: And [Jesus] called the people to him again and said to them, “ Hear me, all of you, and understand: There is nothing outside of a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” Mark 7:14–16
In one sentence, Jesus shifts our focus from the outside to the inside.
We often think the biggest problems in our lives come from what happens to us—stress, frustration, temptation, difficult people. But Jesus says the deeper issue is what comes from our own heart.
Words filled with anger don’t start on the tongue—they start in the heart. (Luke 6:45) Jealousy doesn’t come from someone else’s success—it comes from something unsettled inside. Bitterness, pride, lust, fear—all of these flow out of the heart long before they ever show up in our actions.
Jesus isn’t saying this to shame us. He’s saying it because He wants to heal us.
He knows we can cover up behavior for a while, but real transformation only happens when we let Him deal with what’s inside.
So today, instead of blaming circumstances or people, Jesus invites us to pray a simple, courageous prayer:

“Lord, search my heart. Show me what’s really going on inside. Reveal anything in me that You want to change— any attitude, fear, wound, or desire that doesn’t reflect You. Heal my heart so that what comes out of my life honors You.

Scripture: 1 John 5:14-15 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him.”
This verse reminds me that I can approach the Father with confidence and that he hears me, even when maybe I don’t feel heard. Whatever I ask of Him (aligned to His will), He will give to me. That doesn’t mean He’ll answer it like I want Him to or in the time frame I want, but He does hear me. I have recently gotten to see the fruit of prayers that I have been praying for a long time. Lord, thank you for hearing my prayers. I pray that I have the courage to keep asking, to keep hoping, and to keep seeking you. Help me to be confident in who you are and what you want for my life. Thank you for your mercy and your grace when I forget.
Create a T-chart and on one side, write down all of the things or answered prayers that you are thankful for or have received this last year. On the other side write down things and prayers that you are asking and hoping for this next year.

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 are my go-to verses when I am searching for clarification or answers.
5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding 6) In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
These verses tell me to trust in the Lord completely, to take myself out of it. To trust Him for the direction and everything for my life with a total commitment. I do not know what is best for me, but Lord, your promise says you will direct my path. When I ignore you, it causes me anxiety and grief. It is hard to let go of control because when I focus on my desire, I am not glorifying you and not letting you give me the desires of your heart for me.
Father, I come to you seeking your guidance and discernment. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to replace my desire with your desire. Father it is so hard to take my wants out of this request to you. Father, search my heart and show me what I need to change or do, so I may honor, glorify, and do your will however you lead me. Lord, I thank you for the blessings and guidance you have given me. I thank you for the people you have put in my path. They have all been there for a reason, and sooner or later, you will always show me the why. I thank you that you will never leave me nor forsake me, that I just have to reach out to you. Thank you, sweet Jesus, for being my intercessor to my Father. Amen

Intentional
Scripture: “and whatever you do, whether in work or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
We should purposefully align our life with His will through deliberate choices and actions, such as daily prayer, reading your Bible, and living out a life of forgiveness and love. You have to make time, and through a conscious effort, commit to a life pleasing to Him, and that glorifies Him and live with a heart committed to righteousness. There will be times in which you will have to trust and surrender your plans to Him to fulfill His plans for your life. Let your worship be pure and honest, which comes from your heart. Do not just say you will find the time. Open up your heart and mind and make time. You always make the time for what is important to you. Put God first in and see where His plan leads you.
Prayer
Open my eyes to the opportunities you have placed around me to reflect your love and truth. Teach me to walk with intention, led by Your spirit, and anchored in Your word. May my life glorify You. Amen

Scripture: "I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my defense, he has become my salvation." Psalm 118:13-14 NIV
When I am facing trials and tribulations, I remember that the Lord is faithful in all circumstances. I may feel defeated, but the Lord has already won the victory, and He is holding me steady with his righteous right hand.
I hold tightly and bring to mind often that He fights for me. . .always. I find joy and peace in knowing that I am never alone and that our gracious and loving Father never asks us to do things in our own strength, but that he is my stronghold and refuge.
Father, I praise you that you never leave my side. Thank you that when I cry out for help, you hear me and answer. Help me to remember that you have always been faithful and you always will be. You never stop working for my good and your glory. When the world shouts, help me to hear the Holy Spirit's sweet, tender voice that whispers truth and life and brings calm to the chaos around me. Help me to surrender the things that you never intended for me to carry. Your will be done, Lord, not mine.
In Jesus's precious name I pray.

Write this verse down and put it in your car. I started saying it and repeating it every time I got in the car to go to work or go anywhere, and was able to memorize it! I speak it now over circumstances where my feelings are telling me, "I can't do this, Lord," and it helps me remember that I don't have to because HE will!!

Scripture: Exodus 14:14-“ the Lord will fight for you; You need only to be still.”
This verse has helped me to understand that I serve a God who continuously fights for me. Even when I try to get in the way and shouldn’t. I feel like Israel sometimes, when I know I have a Father that will fight for me, but still try to do it on my own. That never works out well for me. In the moments where I need him to fight for me, I have to know to be still.
We often tell ourselves we can do things on our own, in our own strength, by being just good enough or strong enough or fast enough, when in reality all we have to do is be still and trust that God is who he says he is, and he will fight for you. We all struggle with being in control, but what if we are called to just be still and let God work for us, in us, and through us? God is fighting for you; all you have to do is be still and let him! Remind yourself every day that we serve a God that is quick to help, love, fight, and restore, so be still today.
Lord, I pray that in the moments that we feel like we have to be in control or fight on our own, that you will remind us ever so gently that all we have to do is be still. All we have to do is know you and love you and trust that you are who you say you are, and you will do what you say you’re going to do. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to live this life with a God that is always fighting for us and helps us to live a life worthy of the calling you’ve given us. Help us to be still in the moments that you need to fight. In your name, Amen.

Scripture: “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18(ESV)
It’s so easy for us to get wrapped/consumed in day-to-day things. When we are evaluating things from a third perspective, it’s easy to judge and say, “Why are they making it such a big deal?” But, then I see ones who are really going through the struggle; whether it be health, divorce, death, unemployment, or anything else you could dream. This life can be extremely tough on me some days, but possibly not even in the stratosphere of what you personally are going through. I know no matter the situation, big or small, our Heavenly Father has us. Paul was imprisoned and beaten, and he still had the audacity to write this? Incredible Faith.
Prayer:
Dear Father, help me fix my eyes on eternal things and find joy in the HOPE of eternity with you. Help me see the big picture in all things, and give me peace and resolve when dealing with the things of this world. I know that you’re in control, and ultimately, we can find rest in knowing that we have already won. Thank you, Lord.
Application:
Go be bold, disciple, and live in VICTORY.

Scripture: “You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4 (ESV)
This scripture is translated in The Message: You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. God has really been speaking to me about staying in step with him and not of this world. Extra-curricular activities are great; God has given us many gifts. However, keeping things in balance is tricky. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33 to seek after his kingdom first. We have to be “all in” with our relationship with God, continually striving to walk the path he has for us. God will speak to us when things are out of balance; we just have to listen. Seek God and put him first in all that we do. It may take us a little bit to get back on track, but God is gracious, loving, and waiting for us.
Prayer: Father, we are so grateful for who you are. Thank you for giving me a gift to use in this world to advance your kingdom. Lord, when things get out of balance in my life, please show me and help me put you back at the center of my life. Thank you for your mercy and grace that is new every morning. Thank you for loving me and fighting for me every day. Help me to seek you each day and put my trust in your plan for my life. Help me to look to things above and not of this world. Having a relationship with you is the most important thing. Give me the strength to be in this world, but not of this world. Amen
I encourage you to spend time with the Father every day and ask him to show you where you aren’t putting him first. Ask him, “Am I putting you first or things of this world?” Sit and listen to him speak. Surround yourself with like-minded people to help you. In the world we live in, putting and keeping God first is challenging. It shouldn’t be, but it is. We can’t beat ourselves up for getting it wrong; we have to trust Jesus to help us get it right.

Scripture: How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen?
Lord’s Answer: Look….and be utterly amazed. Habakkuk 1:1-5
We have a man calling out to God for help, repeatedly, he says. The Lord’s answer is amazing - the Lord goes on to say, “ for I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” Another man - this time King Jehoshaphat calls out to God in front of all the people when an army approaches, and he does the same, cries out to God in prayer - “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12
Our eyes are on you. Are my eyes on God when a vast army approaches? When cancer, bankruptcy, depression, divorce, death, or anxiety approach - are my eyes on that or on God? God’s response is one we can memorize: “This is what the Lord says to you: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s” 2 Chronicles 20:15
We face many challenges in this world and in our lives, but notice when people call out to God in prayer - He answers back. We need God to face our battles, we need to stand amazed as God fights for us, BUT first we have to ask Him to join the fight. May our eyes be fixed on God and see what He does in our lives in 2026.
Application:
Memorize 2 Chronicles, when you face something hard this year - remind yourself of this scripture by saying it out loud with your name in it. “Do not be afraid, Tori, or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, Tori, but God’s.”
