Hiya church family!!
Some days are just better than others, aren’t they?
The good days remind us of things we love the most, connections, meaning, and joy while the hard days teach steadfastness, patience, and remind us of our…wait for it…JOY. Both are necessary and valuable. True peace often comes when we stop fighting the why and start showing up for all of it with gratitude (or endurance) and find our place and hope in Jesus.
Today, Ashley’s Mom and Dad, Gary and Dana Miller, have been invited to The White House at the invitation of the President to participate in the National Day or Prayer. Whoa, that’s a big deal! They are honored and excited, as they should be, and we are celebrating that (AND Gary’s Birthday) with them!
At the same time, we got some very disheartening news yesterday that made us press pause on our happiness — just for a minute. It’s the ebb and flow of life that keeps us wanting.
Ashley and I have no expectation that everyday will be filled with obnoxious laughter and perfect harmony. Believe me, we belly laugh a lot at our house. But some days are just harder than others.
When we get taken back a step and things feels uncertain, painful, or broken—that’s when God transcends our feels. He is present, not necessarily in removing the struggle, but in walking through them with us. In silence, in anger, through tears, and in acts of grace, God shows up—not always to fix IT, but to hold, strengthen, and guide US. Faith in hard times isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about trusting that we’re not alone in the struggle.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without
wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23
Steadfastness isn’t loud. It’s quiet obedience. It’s choosing to believe when nothing around you changes. It’s holding onto God not because you feel Him—but because you know Him. And that is holy ground.
Keep going church! The best is yet to come.
