Hi Church!
May is here and that means you are probably already swimming in the muddy water of things to do, things that need to be done, and also a little worry about how you’ll get it all done! It happens every May everywhere. Prom, banquets, ceremonies, field day, STAAR tests, finals, graduation, and so much more.
So let me give you something to add to your crazy life. *PAUSE* Sabbath.
Now feels like a time when something has to go to make room for all the other things. But what cannot go is your worship of God with others. I heard a quote once and can’t remember who said it. “You can be committed to Church but not committed to Christ, but you cannot be committed to Christ and not be committed to the church.”
This is timeless. This is real. This is a moment to be measured. This is a test.
Choose immediately to take a stand for your family, make a statement that will last a lifetime, and break any pattern of choosing lesser things over the greater thing.
Choose to lead your family into deeper community with your church family. And find rest with the rest of us. (Matthew 11:28-29)
