We are under construction — literally! Let me tell you about it.
Currently, the Welcome Center (main Euclid Ave entrance) is being renovated, and we are moving the church offices back down to the Euclid/Seventh St corner of the campus. Why? Because we will will begin renovation of the Kids Wing after Easter to prepare for something VERY exciting.
1. We want to create the safest possible and a most excellent area for our River Kids. This will include a new Kid’s check in and widened entrance by the kitchen. What is now a choke point between the coutryard and Main street (alley) doors will be expanded to include an improved double door entrance from the alley. We will demo the kitchen pantry and janitor closet that currently shrink that area, open it up for traffic flow, update ALL the surfaces (bye bye wood panel wainscoting), and move ALL kids down the hall south of the restrooms by the kitchen.
And 2. This fall (August), we will launch a Mom’s Day Out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is so needed in our town! It will be much more than “day care”. It is a bible-based, well organized, safe ministry to children AND their parents, and it will become a new front door to The River for families east of Amarillo. We’ll share much more about that in the weeks to come as we prepare to open registration in early spring.
There is so much more I want to tell you about it all, and I will. But for now, please know that we are growing and moving, and that 2024 will be a BREAKTHROUGH year for The River!
“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.” — Isaiah 43:19 (The Message)
I can’t wait to worship with you on Sunday! Let’s GOOO!
