Job Title: Office Manager
Reports To: Pastor / Brent Warren
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Summary:
The River Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the church office, ensuring efficient administration, supporting the pastoral staff, and maintaining a welcoming environment for church members, attenders and guests. This role requires a combination of administrative skills, interpersonal communication, and a heart for ministry.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for phone calls, emails, and guests.
- Maintain the church calendar, scheduling events, facility usage, and meetings.
- Prepare and distribute staff meeting notes, reports, and other communications.
- Manage church records, including finances, membership, baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
- Limited financial responsibilities include but are not limited to: Paying bills, Filing payroll, Writing and distributing checks, and Assisting church accountant with financial data and records.
Office Management
- Oversee general office operations including ordering supplies, mail, filing systems, and equipment.
- Maintain general organization of church and ministries.
- Manage church software systems;QuickBooks, Planning Center,and Payroll.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to the mission and values of the church.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous office administration or church-related experience preferred.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday-Thursday (9am-4pm) / Sunday Mornings (9:00-Noon)
Off Friday and Saturday typically – special church events require some weekend support - Salary: TBD(iscussed later)
Health Savings Account Contribution: $7200 / annually
Cell phone allowance: $1200 / annually
General statement of position:
This person serves in many ways as the face of the church, representing The River in the community, on the phone, and electronically. The spirit of the office is the responsibility of all who serve here, so we are looking for character, chemistry, and competence to match and maintain joy and cooperation. It’s a genuinely fun, not micromanaged team environment. The hours include an hour lunch break but also include after hours ministry support occasionally (eg. Helping set up for a women’s event on an occasional Saturday or helping with registration for a Student Ministry event on an occasional Friday night – these are not demanding or often).
